Modern Jazz patches?

I've searched but have not find, can anyone point me to some nice "modern" Jazz guitar tones, such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, particularly that slightly distorted sound? I know that they have thir own tone and that depends on lots of things, etc, etc, but I play just for fun and would like to know if there's somebody out there who as explored this.

most of those guys aren't gearheads. I have a buddy who is a great modern jazz player in Chicago, and he uses a deluxe reverb, and a chorus , delay and single od pedal. I don;t know what Kurt is playing right now, but ben monder and a lot of guys play really simple setups. Hope that helps.

I asked our local Jazz club hero:

What amp are you using?
- He said: "What ever they have in the club.... I don't like to carry amps around".

Then I asked:
What kind of strings are you using?
- He said: "I don't remember what I put on it... it was long time ago".

Now maybe he just didn't want to talk to me but judging by how those strings looked, he was probably telling the truth.

Yup, a agree. Most of them could care less about gear.
