Q: You and Mikael are using the Fractal Axe-FX Ultra effects and amp modelling processor live now, is that right?

A: "I only use it in the loop for delays. Mike [Åkerfeldt] uses it as a power amp but I'm still particular about tube amps, a wah is the only effect I have out front. I don't use the amp simulations live but I do in the studio back home. It's very good."

I'm sure he means preamp in place of the BOSS GT-8, that Mikael has used for years.

I've been playing Opeth songs through my Axe-Fx for years, about time they caught on.

I love the lead tone on Ghost of Perdition, not sure which one of them plays that...

That's Mikael on GoP, at least that's who plays it live! Agree about the tone - that first bend to open the solo gets me every time.

I only use it in the loop for delays.

Cool that Åkerfeldt starting to use it!

Last time I was at an Opeth concert was the first gig of the 20th Anniversery tour they did(March 30 this year)..
That.... was freakin Magic!

3 hours, first the complete "Blackwater Park" album.. 10-15min break
Then 1 song from each album they made...

I saw them once at a festival, while the sun was shining. Not perfect conditions
I prefer to listen to Opeth on rainy days in the fall.
