Midi controller for FM9?

Hi All -
I would like to use a MIDI interface of some kind (Probably a pad controller) to control my FM9 by hand (say mounted on a mic stand). All I would need are basic functions like preset select and scene select. Has anyone done this? Any recommendations on a good controller for this function? I have been told that at some point you could even get midi touch pads that mounted on the guitar (which would be cool). Any references or resources on how to program the midi to talk to the FM9 (I'm a total noob with MIDI)?

Learning the basics of midi and how that can apply to the FM9 is probably a good idea.

With Fractal stuff, you mostly are going to need to learn about midi PC (Program Change, aka Preset Change) and CC (Control Change) messages.

I send midi signals for preset changes from my iPad using an app called 'Songbook', nothing fancy but saves a lot of tap dancing to find certain songs!

I use an iPad and Bandhelper to connect via Bluetooth, to control my RJM Mastermind, which in turn controls my Axe-Fx II. I created this thread which documents how to do it. There are some examples of how to interpret MIDI commands, which you may find helpful.
