Midi controll for effects loop pedals?

Hi, I have the Axe fx2 and MFC 101 set to Preset Mode. ( first 5 switches to change patches and the rest to turn effects on/off) I have purchased a Strymon Big Sky which will be here early this week I am hoping to set it up so that when I activate certain patches on the axe fx a particular patch saved on the strymon will activate at the same time. I usually find what I need on youtube but in this case I couldn't find anything. I have found how to midi control the strymon through a midi pedal but I want to control it with the axe fx? can I do this?

most midi gear that I have used uses the same commands for patch change, you should be able to connect with the midi out through and when you call for a patch change, both units should go to the same patch#(if they are on the same midi channel). but I have not used the Strymon
