MFC-101 MKIII randomly not controlling Axe-Fx II

Axe-Fx II - Firmware 14.02 (just installed this past weekend)
MFC-101 - Firmware 3.02 (installed 2-19-2014 - obtained from Matt)

My MFC-101 Mk III is randomly not controlling the Axe-Fx II properly. I'm using the Axe-Fx mode, pretty much right out of the box with all the possible external switches and pedals. What happens is I press a switch to turn on an effect, the light does not go on and the effect does not engage. It has done this on multiple channels, quite irritating!!! Prior to installing this Axe-Fx Firmware (14.02) update this past weekend, I only had this problem on one channel that was using 96% CPU, when I removed a block and got down to 92% it worked fine.

Also noticed when using tap tempo that I get some strange noises from the unit that weren't there before. There has always been that momentary "dead spot" but it's never made weird noises in place of those dead spots?

I was going to put this on stage next weekend for the first time and now this?

Any ideas???

P.S. Yes; the MFC-101 was 100% disconnected from the Axe-Fx while installing the update and yes I know that the MFC-101 is running 3.02 not the newest 3.03 which says "This version brings full compatibility with Axe-Fx II XL" I'll install that one this evening to see if it solves to problem.

I feel your pain, yet I can't help but laugh. ;) It's like a pre-emptive bug fix (even though someone obviously noticed it before you did or else there wouldn't have been an update).

shasha,
Fixed that bad quote in my original comment. It should have read...

"This version brings full compatibility with Axe-Fx II XL"

Oops. ;)

Firmware 3.03 solved all the issues. I guess I shouldn't have paid any attention to the "This version brings full compatibility with Axe-Fx II XL" note under the firmware update.

When I have 2 extra switches hooked up to the MFC-101 Mark 2 It always puts the 8th scene on when switching presets. When I unplug the switches the presets switch properly. Any help or Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Love & Peace,

David

David,
Based on what you wrote, I suspect one of two things;

First: Did you try to have more than one switch assigned to the same task of switching the same thing. By what you wrote, that was the impression I got. Check the MIDI CC values on both the Axe-Fx and the MFC-101 and see if something is duplicated Please clarify.

Second: You probably have the external switched setup wrong or set to the wrong CC value.

Just trying to brain storm.

Thank You very much Spoons I had two external switches trying to do the same as an IA switch . Your advice pointed me in the right direction.Somehow I either already setup scene switching or it was setup by default on IA's and I tried to setup using 2 external mission engineering switches. I love My Fractal..........

Much Thanks,
