FM3 Making my live crunch tones, advices welcome!

Hi,

I have created a topic on the fm3 section (HERE)for sharing raw recorded live tones we used for gigs.

Each year I start from scratch and each year it’s difficult. So it’s great to have advices and reference points from other users.

Here’s what I’m working on.

Telle me what you think, I hesitate between the first and the third but I may be completely wrong.

Amp used : 2203 high

3 isolated variant of the same tone: No PEQ - PEQ (mid bump and some high cut) - PEQ (same but with low cut)


The same but with a simple drum loop



What do you think I can do to improve it?

I think 2 and 3 sound best, and I would keep the low end in there, so 2 for now.

In a mix i prefere 3 but i don t here much critical difference between them

I prefer the first with the drum loop. It just has that “ attitude “ in its tone.
Honestly, they all sound good and the differences only stick out in a direct comparison.

Yep, I'm on board with the first as well. Bit more raw & gritty. 2 & 3 just have enough of a bit of flubbiness that I don't prefer them.

You have so much control and attitude in both of your hands, I don't know if any subtle changes in your tone settings really matter.
