Hello again guys,
So, a week has passed with the new Majesty 7. I'm sure you don't need told how that's been.
Anyway, I had a go of a friend's Mark V and noticed something when I kicked in the on board pre-amp. The axe fx acts very little like a real amp when it's engaged.
I assume the reason is because the axe fx is digital and clipping is not the same as using a boost in front of an amp.
Anyways, I plan on pulling back the input gain so that I only tickle the red with the pre-amp on, but I fear this will make my signal without it very weak and therefore noisy.
Does anyone have any suggestions with how to approach this? I imagine it to be very similar as using a boost pedal in front of the axe
