Looper audio gap and sync problems

I experience looper audio gaps when toggling Amp X/Y or switching presets. The loop gets out of sync with an external rhythm source (drums). The tempo is still correct but the audio gap shifts the loop so it's no longer on the down beat.

Here is a theory: the looper is a block and when the grid changes, the AX8 stops audio processing to reconfigure the grid and then resumes afterwards, causing an audio gap.

This is unnecessary when the looper block is the last block before the output block. No other blocks can affect the looper playback output since it's in the last grid position before the output block. Therefore it's safe to continue looper playback while the rest of the grid is being reconfigured.

AX8 developers: Is it possible to special case the "looper block before the output block" case and continue playing the loop without a gap?

Certainly, even with the same exact settings and location, switching presets will make that audio gap. A global looper (or choice for one) would prevent that. Looping live with more than one preset is difficult because of this gap.
