Loop record directly into overdub?

Wouldn't it be nice if you could set up the looper to a preset number of beats, and have it switch from record to overdub without having to press the overdub switch? I've fast become a pro at setting the looper up for specific beat lengths, and it works like a charm in that respect, but I can't seem to find any information on a way to begin overdubbing automatically. Help me, fractal Obi Wans.

Of course, but what I would like is for the AX8 to automatically go into overdub mode after a specific number of beats. One less footswitch to stomp
