Looking to Mix and Master your music

With working full time, I don't have the flexibility to tour much. I'm really looking to get into mixing and mastering other people's projects (I can also reamp via axe fx). At this point I am offering to do in exchange for word of mouth promotion if you like the end result. If not, there's no monetary cost to you.

Below is the only "Official" thing I've done.

Message me here and we can exchange email/phone numbers.

Be very, very careful about the can of worms you just opened. ;)

Maybe you should check a few of SpectreSoundStudios youtube vids regarding stupid musicians texts to see what kind of customers you will end up dealing with. :D

Here's a real tip for you, when you do a mix, tell your customer he only gets 3 corrections, as in 1st mix, 2nd mix, 3rd mix, and the 4th mix will be the final one. Otherwise you'll end up having to make constant corrections.

I've run into the same issue not only doing mixing & mastering but also graphic design. You have to put a limit on how many changes they are allowed or a fee structure after X amount of changes. Otherwise, a project can go on forever!

I never limit a customer, but I have a minimum fee and charge by the hour. I also advise the customer up front that the hourly fee is doubled if they criticize my work and tripled if they tell me how to do my job.:p

As a copywriter/branding specialist I have the same policy in place. I give them a good price for the project which includes x revisions (depending on complexity), and a good hourly rate for additional work beyond the original scope, but that way they know they can't just go on forever w/out paying for it.

I commend you for starting out as an exchange, that's a fair way to get your feet wet and get some projects under your belt. But still, I would be clear about how many iterations people get.
