I never heard of him before but now listening to him on Amazon Prime. I love his tone....he get this tone like Phil Keaggy on Jammed album. I would be interested in this too.
 
Well, he has a few tones. He uses his PRS mainly but also Teles. He has a PRS Grissom amp that is kind of Vox meets Marshall. He uses stacked drive pedals, and sets his amp up so it goes from clean to low gain/grit, to medium gain, then to solo and a boost.

He also uses Marshalls when recording. I think the 100W Jump Plexi gets close. He also uses Greenbacks.

There are lots of interviews on web with him. His echos use a dotted eighth note with some modulation, similar to tape echo, probably around 375 ms timed to BPM.

In studio he uses compressors which is one way to get a big sound. His John Cougar Mellencamp stuff showcases that.

If you're ever in Austin he plays the Saxon Pub on Tuesday nights at 6PM for free most weeks, always a killer show!
