Long shot.. Anyone using an ENGL E840/50 with their AXE?

Title says it all..

Have been umm'ing and ahh'ing but don't know how well they respond with the Axe.. Gonna borrow one from a mutual friend to try out with my rig..

Any thoughts/opinions??

I've used this amp, although not with Axe FX. I compared it with 850/100 and chose the latter - it has much more clean headroom. If you want your amp to be driven more then 840/50 is a fine amp.

I was using the amp with Axe with power amp sim on, so there's that. If you don't want to use power amp simulation, the 50-watt version may actually be better at manageable volume...

I also had the 850/100. While it is a great power amp it is way too heavy for my back, add maintenance costs (tubes). I tried the Matrix GT800FX and sold the Engl. That being said, I don´t use the Matrix either since I bought CLR active wedges.
