thanks! I've struggled getting the high frequencies to sit right for a while as I use blackface Fender models and you gotta crank the treble to get them to do what I like them to do - had tried a PEQ with a notch around 2.2 kHz and a high shelf. What really ended up doing it for me was lowering the power amp grid bias a bit. Now it's a lot more pleasing and no icepick!
