How can I get a sound similar to Live (the band)? Mostly looking for mental jewelry and the intro to lightning crashes.

How can I get a sound similar to Live (the band)? Mostly looking for mental jewelry and the intro to lightning crashes.

Lightning Crashes sounds like a phaser through an amp at the edge of breakup or a slightly dirty amp through a mild flanger to me.

I did a Freeman amp with a York Ir and rolled off guitar vol and was sweet like Live

The free HJ 4x12 that Cliff posted a while ago. Search should find the post with the link pretty easily. Essentially, it is like a HIWATT 4x12. Harry Joyce was the guy who wired the HIWATT amps back in the day. In the attached preset, I used the Legacy Hi-Power 4x12, for portability, since the HJ is in my user cabs.

Amp model is ODS100 HRM.

Been camped out on that amp and cab for a couple weeks now. It just sounds good no matter what guitar I stick through it....

Ok. It sounds great. I can see it being great to get a Gin Blossoms sound too.

Will have to try that, too, then. I used the ODS100 HRM that I have been camping out on for a couple weeks, so kinda in the Marshall flavor zone....
