Any recommendations on Kali LP6v2 vs Adam T7V (or other similar $) for rock/metal music and guitar playback? I want to get away from headphones when jamming to songs and experiment with the IR’s with my FM3.

Speakers will sit close to the back wall. Room is mildly treated. I don’t record nor play out.

Hi, I think any good flat response studio monitor will do. I use the Yamaha HS5 since I have my setup ik a relatively small space and I love how they sound with my FM3.
I do play live so I compensate with adding bass in the mixer so they translate better to live PA.
But if you don’t play out any good set of studio monitors will probably work fine.

IR’s work fine with phones. Speakers are better though.
Yeah, I currently use a JCM900 1960B with solid state amp. I use headphones when I am playing with a song/experimenting with IR’s. So I want to get monitors so I can do both without wearing headphones so much when I’m not trying to be quiet.

It is my understanding that the kali monitors were developed by the same group that worked on the jbl 7 series monitors. I use the 7 series at work and am happy with them. I will be getting Kali monitors at home when build my home mixing environment, but I will do the 8” drivers instead of the 6.
