Went to my parents' place for Father's day. Didn't bring any gifts, my mother made my favorite meal (Not my father's), and I walked out with my father's old pair of JBL 4425 studio monitors.
I've been loving the pair of Atomic CLR passives that I have, but they're way too much speaker for my living room and I don't play out. I've been trying everything I can do to tame the beasts, but they really love to be cranked louder than my space can bear. I'll probably keep them for lawn parties, but I've given up trying to cram these XL speakers into my XS room.
The JBLs are a lot more appropriate for my space and sound amazing. I never missed the "in the room" amp sound, so the hi-fi ness of the JBLs suit me just fine. I kinda wish my father had sprung for the 4430s back in the day, but honestly, they're way too much speaker for his room or mine.
The butt cheeks are the real deal!
