Issue with USB Inputs switching seemingly randomly

After using the Axe-FX 3 for about 30 minutes, the USB inputs will switch from 1 and 2 to 2 and 3. If I wait long enough, then they switch up one more again (3+4). I have to restart the Axe FX to get it back to USB In 1+2

Any idea why this is happening?

I see that from time to time, but far more rarely than every 30 minutes. I have no idea why it's happening. Same for me: turning the Axe-FX off and back on puts the channels back where they belong.

I've seen it on a Mac. I haven't seen it on Windows, but it's rare enough that I don't know if that's significant.

Mine happens on Windows. It has switched to USB 2+3 In as I typed this. It's frustrating as all heck. I also have noticed that it occurs more often when I'm playing games or something.

Does it only do it on the Stereo pair inputs in the DAW? I've not seen that happen on Windows 10 (knock on wood).

You should probably contact support. If it's happening every 30 minutes, it sounds like you might have a faulty unit.
