I am hoping I can get some help me with a wiring diagram that shows how to interface my FX8 with an ISP DECIMATOR G-STRING II?

Thanks,

Joe

If you are in 4cm

Guitar goes to Guitar In on the decimator

Guitar Out on the decimator goes to the instrument input of the FX8

Amp FX Send goes to the DEC IN input of the decimator

DEC OUT of the decimator goes to the "From Amp FX Send" input of the FX8 (Left)

Hope that helps

Exactly how mine works. It works perfectly with the FX8.

It does but what about the FX Return on my amp?
Will this complete the connections?

Out Pre Left to Amp In?
Out (Post) Left to Amp Loop Return?

No fx return is from the fx8 to the amp so if you did it this way the amp would not have any noise gate from the Decimator.

Just hook it up the way bread suggested, and if you want to experiment from there, go for it. His approach is the best approach. Good luck.

Found this video, should help explain the functionality and clarify the setup. There's a diagram @ 3:40 for connecting to an effects loop.

Not to derail but would the onboard Gate be able to do the same thing without the G-String?
Not exactly. The main feature of the G-String is it's ability to detect the signal from the guitar and keep the gate open. With the regular Decimator II, you have to turn the pedal off so the clean tone would not be cut off at the set threshold.
