Is there some kind of detection for plugged / unplugged inputs ?

Hello,

suppose I have an input block on the grid, but the corresponding input is not physically plugged in. I would like to know if, in theory, this could lead to some random noise being processed, or if there's some kind of detection that there's nothing to process, and the input would in fact be ignored ? My question applies to both analog inputs qnd S/PDIF (when routed as the digital input source to one of the input blocks of course).

no 'detection' that I know of (other than signal present) - if nothing is plugged in, input blocks yield silence.

You will definitely get noise if you're externally clocked and have no spdif input connected . Otherwise, silence.
