Is there a way to get direct-for-reamping out of S/PDIF out instead of USB?

So i bought the equipment i needed to get latency free monitoring of Axe while recording Axe to SonarX3 (win7) while recording other things at the same time. I got an RME UCX for this task. That was the first and most important thing. Done!

But now i want to advance to being able to record a dry track for re-amping at the same time.
Here's my first question - can i run the direct re-amping signal out Axe S/PDIF while running the normal Axe output out the Axe Analog outputs? :indecisiveness: TIA.

Yes, in I/O menu set USB/DIGI Out Source to "Input".

Ya, works fine. I have the Axe clocking the RME, with the RME set to S/PDIF in for clock. Onward!

Been doing it this way for quite some time. Only thing that I ever ran into in terms of issues was jitter depending on the audio interface. Some interfaces need to slave to the digital source during the dry take and then be the master when re-amping. Some will lock onto the signal and fix it automatically.
