Is page 155 in the manual the only way to connect a expression pedal?

yes... I think you can jack the exp pedal into the back of the Axe..
there's a thing in the Axe manual about that...

on the GCP, I don't know why there's a delay .. maybe check the 'damp' value in the modifier.. set this to a very low value like 4..
I don't know how to calibrate in the GCP either..
some control units let you set min / max values to calibrate manually.. the MFC has a calibration feature...
you tell it to calibrate... wiggle the pedal.. done... it's nice and easy..
 
I know that I can connect the pedal to the axe, but can that connection control the wah when I use the GCP to change pathces, even though wah setting for each patch isn`t configured on the GCP? In that way the wah setting could be done just on the axe.

I`m not sure if you get what I mean. My fault
But if that is so, then I don?t see the point of connecting the pedal to the GCP.
It`s more easy to just hook up with the Axe. I must buy longer cable!
