Is it safe to plug the AX8 into a wall outlet?

This question has some merit. We used to have squirrels outside that really liked to chew on the power cables resulting in sudden drops when for example the washer started, you could see light dim and go up. In other words nasty transients going throught the power outlets. I got worried about my studio so I purchased a power conditioner to the studio. As a bonus it has a big power button so I just turn off the unit when no equipment is used. Even better would be to pull out the power supply cable from the wall outlet when you go for your 3 week vacation.

Don't even get me started about crappy bars with wrong ground insulation wiring and all outlets going through a single wiring, neon lights and who knows what is connected to the power.

I go through a nice power strip, but always unplug it from the wall when I am not using it. We get some serious lightning in South Carolina.
