There’s no point recording the FRFR. The sound coming from it can not be better than what the modeler is already sending, so use the modeler’s output directly.
The speakers and the cabinet have their own affect on the sound and color it, even in the best systems, so they can only degrade the signal compared to the original.
The best sound I’ve heard from mic’d cabs was @Marco Fanton’s demos of his MF-10 and ELIS.8 cabs. Having had the ELIS.8, I can say that what is in the video sounded identical to what I heard in the room. Perhaps he’ll share his thoughts.
