IR player vs Cab block?

Am I correct that the main difference between the two is the cab block adds the mic parameters and allows mixing of IR's?

The reason I ask is I'd like to use 3 IR's per preset, and there are only 2, so I want to use an extra cab block as an IR player.

Why the heck would someone want 3 IR's in a preset?

ch1 is an elec guitar that occasionally needs an IR to make guitar A sound more like guitar B.

ch2 is an acoustic that needs an IR so the piezo pickup sounds more like a decent mic.

ch3 is an upright bass that needs an IR so it's piezo sound more like a decent mic.
For studio work I usually use two mics on the upright (ribbon off the bridge and SDC off the fingerboard) panned L&R. Would be cool try that live, but I'd need 2 IR's....or one IR player that could play separate impulses for L and R. Hummmmm.....maybe the cab block is the answer.....

Oh and ch4 gets used for vocal harmonies.

The Axe FX-III is a huge game changer for live performances! That one box is improving the sound of the entire band while giving me killer guitar tones!
