So I have captured Ir's using the ir capture tool on the axe and I have also saved them from the tone matching. It depends, but I get different results depending on what I'm doing. Example: I captured an ir from a kpa profile and then I tone matched the whole profile. Extracting the ir out of the tone match proved much better than the actual ir only capture. This is not always the case though with profiles. I've tried them both ways. Can anyone explain this? It seems like these would produce the same results. The only thing I can think is that possibly the tone match saved ir takes into account the gain structure and therefore is technically limited to the amp.
