IR Capture of the Kemper

Hi,

I am having issues capturing my kemper. I did it before with my axe 2 without any problems. I am trying to capture the cab block alone so I turn the amp block off on the kemper. I hooked up to the kemper with XLR cables for the inputs and outputs. I followed the instructions from the axe 3 book, but I could not get the scratchpad number 1 feature to work. This feature allows you to preview the profiled cab before saving it. I did not hear anything when switching to this. The unit is quite. I know I'm doing something wrong so maybe someone can shed some light on this. I am thinking the xlrs hooked between the kemper and the axe are not responding. I do however see the test sound when I press test on the ir capture feature. The light goes up on output 2 so i'm assuming i'm getting roundtrip on the connection. Please let me know your thoughts or if someone can send me some procedures to follow.

There is a bug in the auto-audition using Scratchpad 1. It will be fixed in the next firmware release. For now you can save the IR to any user slot and that will work fine.

Thank you! I'm a little confused. Should we not use the tone match block anymore? We just use the cab block and go to setup ir capture? Is the guitar supposed to be unplugged during this process? I do not see any leds on the kemper reacting to the input signal from the axe. When I press capture on the axe the output 2 lights up twice and then the input 1 lights up last and makes a click noise.

The Tone Match block is a different thing. To capture an IR one would use the IR Capture utility (Home > Setup > IR Capture). The results of the IR Capture can be auditioned using the Cabinet block. Normally you would set the Cab block to use Scratchpad 1 but that is broken so for now you would use a User slot and save the captured IR to that slot.
