Hi guys, need some help, I wish to use in ear monitors on stage, but also need to hear the rest of the band. Quite a lot of the gigs I do there's only a vocal PA, I use a Matrix Q12a for backline. Any ideas
Easiest Way is to take a mini Mixer, Setting up two Cheapo Condenser mikes on Stage for the Stereo room feel and get a Split Signal From your other bandmates, to Mix it up with your axe Signal.
Strong;y suggest trying a "POSSE" unit. Basicly a mixer as suggested but specialized for essentially your exact situation. My entire band uses these and they are extremely stable and even allow you o mix in ambient sound so you don't feel disconnected from the room and the audience. You can start by hard wiring your in ears on the cheap and using the output from the POSSE unit into a wireless ie system if you are ready for a full wireless rig. A lot of live mixers are able to provide you a feed as well but if you don't have that to work with, the POSSE will fit the bill.
