for under 300 sometimes you can find the UE 900s. You will not find anything better. The are quad driver. WE can also sometimes find some Westone triple drivers

I have the original JH13, not the v2s, though I've heard the v2s. They're both great.

I've been using the 900 for almost 10 years and I never thought to use the body pack to adjust the mix. What game changer haha

You won't get a stereo band mix this way, though, which is one of the huge benefits of the PSM900.
