[implemented] Channel menu: show content of all channels

When the focus is on a block, you can click the down-arrow under Channels (bottom-left) to display a Channels menu.

It would be so handy if that menu would show the actual content of all channels at once.
Because currently you have to switch channels to see what each channel is set to.
 
i notice when i click on a space in the grid that doesnt have a block, all scenes' nams are displayed down below. wonder if the rest of the space could be used to list all channels' contents as well?

For what block?
 
all of them. an alphabetical persistent drop down tree? user decides which sections are expanded/collapsed?
I think it'd have to be something like that, or a pop-up window with tabs that display the information. But a window with tabs would be basically the same as what we already have.

Graphically, it's a lot of information to display clearly all at once because some blocks have a LOT of parameters that are remembered by the individual channels. At the same time, as far as UI goes, drop-downs and/or using reveal triangles or hierarchical menus are a fail because they can consume all display space, either horizontally or vertically. And the typical action is that they only display one particular area then close it when the user moves to another.

I'm glad I don't have to program Edit. :-)


PS - Heh… I think we're gonna need 3D goggles and a glove controller à la The Matrix.
 
this is a bit luxury maybe but some day if we could rename the block channels and if those names would reflect to our controllers (RJM Mastermind GT, Fractal FC etc) would be great.
