I'm Leaving....

My good friend is a professional piano tuner, and a graduate of Berklee College of Music in film scoring, and a gifted keyboardist. He worked in Boston for a while in the early 90’s, and met many of his heroes like Elton John and Billy Joel. He said everyone was always very kind and wonderful, except for John Denver, who was a total ….., well, you know!

I imagine many of us of a certain age were an active part of the Great Folk Music Scare of the Sixties (as the late great Martin Mull put it..) and the PP&M version was certainly part of my earliest troubadour coffeehouse sets….Poor John shoulda stuck to the commercial jets..his solo flights did not turn out well for him

I was a kid went this song was on the radio. Even though I was already starting to enjoy the rock music of that time I loved Leaving on a Jet Plane. Born in 60 and there was so much great music on the radio during my youth. Good years to grow up.
