I'm about to rant, don't read if wasily offended.

surely the answer to this is painfully obvious. although i've never listened to petrucci, he's a very popular guitarist. big name endorsees are good for business, no more needs to be said.
we're all treated well as "fas customers", but it's hardly surprising there is some vip special treatment; nothing wrong with that.

and the artificial heart, and the microprocessor/home computers, and lasers, and chewing gum, and the Polio vaccine, and kevlar, and the lightbulb, and the assembly line, and the airplane, and band-aids, and the pill, and vulcanized rubber, and crayons, and zippers, and video games, and roller coasters, and Viagra, and the remote control, and bras, and ATMs, and genetic engineering, and cardboard, and wire coat hangers, and tea bags (take that UK), and satallite communications, and...

Not bad for a country that has only been around for 235 years. ;)

You're guilty of the same mistake I made earlier - claiming inventions that were not yours to claim.

Lightbulb - invented and patented in England in 1841.
Assembly line - water-driven assembly lines existed in China 2000 years ago. Steam driven assembly lines existed in England over 100 years before Ford.
Crayons were around since well before the USA was.
The first video game was in England. The first digital video game was also in England.

I did! I apologised sincerely and some people STILL felt the need to stick the knife in. I'm not begging people for forgiveness because I was pissed off at the time and made a rant about what I felt was a genuine grievance.

There are some holier than now people on this forum. I'm surprised that they can breathe can breathe all the way up there.... on their high horse.

I just wanted to vent my frustration, not start world war 3 or piss any forum users off. But there really is some vindictive so and so's on here.

I genuinely apologise for not having more restraint, but I have a right to defend myself and my actions, whether they are justified or not. I'm sure that if the US members had to wait 7 months for their units, they'd be just as pissed as I was.

No problem, well done. We've all been guilty of not getting all of our facts in order before speaking our mind. I share your frustration. Look at my address. We have to wait for American and Europeans get services and products first. Not always bad though as the bugs are often ironed out by the time we get the product.

I'm new to the forum but I've not noticed a "holier than thou" attitude, but I may have missed it. Whilst lurking I've observed it to be very helpful and civilised. My main concern is that people giving any small manufacturer an unjustified broadside is that after a while they just stop communicating with us, fiquring it's all a PITA and not worth ther time.

I'd rather Fractal take their time and maintain their QA, rather than job bits and pieces out to manufacturers who cut corners. I recently took the plunge and bought a used V11 Ultra and I'm really pleased I did. It's a mature product with most of the bugs ironed out and although superseded is still light years above the competition. I've put my name on the list for the II but I can chill because I've got plenty to explore with the ultra (which I'll still keep when I get the II)

By all accounts moving to the early release of the AXE II will not be the enormous quantum leap people feel that it will be. It's the potential of the product that is it's strength and having to wait a while may be a blessing in disguise. Maybe it will be up to V5 by the time you get it with even more exciting bells and whistles.

No.

Why not buy the Kemper KPA instead? European users are already deep in beta and Europe will be getting their units before US... and Kemper is being WIDELY distributed through major retail chains.
................ oh wait, Kemper has been delayed................ again.................... sorry about that..................
I too was unhappy with many things regarding the initial release of the AxeFX II, and I'm in the US so I have (had) even less to whine about. The reality is Fractal is a small, booteek, sell direct for the most part shop. I don't see that changing anytime soon and I don't think Cliff and company really WANT to change that anytime soon.
That is something that I had to come to grips with and I'd be lying if I said it didn't take a long while to accept those facts.
I do feel for customers outside of the US for sure, but my Kemper analogy shows that we will be waiting for a competing product and the shoe will be on the other proverbial foot for that one. The HUGE difference is that Kemper is supposed to be an international company with dedicated international distribution and sales team and they can't even get their shit together for release.

I see what you did there! Damn, now I can't give you crap for your 2014 post anymore! :)

Kudos!

What..... what IS that?! :shock

That is a New Zealand Tunnel Web spider (not to be confused with the similarly-named but completely unrelated Funnel Web Spider, which is Australian).

If it looks vaguely familiar, that is because it was the spider that Shelob in the Lord of the Rings movie was based on. It's scary looking as all hell, but not particularly dangerous.

(The much-less scary looking Australian Funnel Web spider is considered to either be the world's deadliest, or second-deadliest behind the Brazilian Wandering Spider, depending on which source you read).

(Here's the spider in question for those who have lost all continuity on this rapidly fragmenting thread.)

So let me understand-You can come on here , spout your hate and venom and foul mouthed crap. Then say whoops no biggie-so all is well. but I am wrong to not like it and kiss your A** because you apoligized? Please explain how you can rant like an animal but I cannot say I don't like it and don't care about what you have to say?

Their's some fancy logic-spare me. I have the right to my post also, don't you think? Huh? Unbelievable. So you come right back and insult those that feel somewhat like I do? Right. Your a wonderful human being, your right.
Yes, we all can make mistakes. But mistakes full of insults and hateful words just don't cut it with me-Sorry-please except my apology for not accepting your apology.

I know your mad, but imagine it's not that easy to put impatient musicians on a waiting list when your a growing company and could use lots of deposit $ to hire proficient techs to assemble & ship, then you'd make lots of $ faster
FAS could take deposits with this demand, & up supply, but they have integrity, quality control & have addressed the wait list in the newest FAS email in the news.
Now ..If your willing to pony up the extra bread, these units are out there.. and some who own them need the $ more right now.
Get on the net, if you gotta have it. You'll find one in your country or in the US w international shipping too ;)

For what it's worth I'm on the list too.

Christ mate, I'm going to have to come over and smack you around; you'll be telling everyone Australian cultural secrets like "drop Bears" next:D

Speaking of drop-bears - there was actually a drop-bear incident in Lane Cove National Park (a large national park within the Sydney region). Two German tourists were injured (not seriously, thankfully). Drop bears haven't been seen in Sydney for quite some time, so it appears that the numbers are recovering (they nearly became extinct back in the 1970s). That's good news for the species and for the environment, although not quite so good for the tourists.

Joking aside I've given up reading threads like this let alone posting on them. Kudos to the regulars for educating people about their needless rants.

well somewhere along the thread op apologized and we then proceeded to start a random facts response with some horsing around in between. Only seems fair if the thread could've gone horribly bad from posts 1-2 ya know? Also, good use of meme :)
