The red state seems WAY brighter than the green state to my eyes. My board is a big wash of red.
My pref would be if the 'present but bypassed' IA's could flash on briefly instead of solid red. Every few seconds, or maybe along with the system tempo. This would cut brightness, solve the colorblind problem AND leave the original feature intact -you could still tell the diff between IA present/bypassed and IA not present.
