I plugged my USB into the MFC port help!!!

I don't know how I did it but I plugged my USB into the MFC port and could smell an electric smell. It was only in there a few minutes and none of my hardware is acting weird but I was planning on getting an MFC soon. Did I just fry that port???

Quite possibly, yes. Not the first time something like this has happened, if you search you might find a couple other threads like this too. You might have to contact support for repairs. Could also be good and nothing is fried badly enough to need repair, but I suppose the only way you'll know is to plug in the mfc. I'd prob just look to have it repaired and get a blank/dummy plug in future.

I've seen this happen once before on the forum. Sounds like it's a definite no-no! I don't have an MFC, at least not yet, so for now I have a piece of electrical tape over the MFC port so I don't accidentally do this.
