How to use the Axe unit as a sound card?

Hi - I would like to use the axe unit (XL+) as a sound card and record a track using Reaper to monitor the output.
Can someone explain if it is possible and how (from scratch)?
 
If on a Windows computer, install the USB driver from the FractalAudio.com page.
Plug in the Axe with a USB cable.
Select the Axe as your sound card in Reaper.

How do I monitor the recording from Reaper? (I want to use an ir plugin on Reaper).

that should work,remember now the axefx is your main audio card,to hear audio on reaper you need to press the monitor icon,if not sound then you are doing something wrong.
 
OK - I've managed to turn on the monitor funtcion but now I can hear two signals (like playing with delay) - one: directly from the unit to the monitors - the other: going through reaper and back to the unit and the monitors.
How do I cancel the direct signal from the unit to the monitors?
