Buy one and put it the the AXE's loop is your best bet...... there are a few presets floating around (mostly by @Admin M@ And @yek , that get sorta close to a specific mello tone , like a cello (do a search in Axe-change) , but. Nothing close to the mellotron , which the MEL can do pretty well, AND polyphonically, which no axe patch using synth can successfully navigate yet.
also there is a a very good Mellotron synth included in Logic X for Mac, and it is easy to play with guitar using the awesome Midi Guitar 2 app

That pedal works well in the AxeFX's loop. I borrowed one from a friend to test it for him as he was unhappy with the sound he was getting from it in his Recto's loop. It tracks best at the front of the signal path.
