how do you control fx distortion

im looking to control a 2nd distortion pedal and assign it to a spot on my fc 12.im useing a axe3

Not sure what you've got in your rig, but you can put it in loop 3. I do this with a Digitech Freqout, this is what it looks like in AxeEdit-



And here is the Output 3 Level settings I changed to get it to work with a momentary switch, I'm not sure if this will help at all since you're assigning it to a switch in the FC12 and mine is assigned to an additional momentary switch (FC 1 Pedal 1) hooked up to my FC6, but here it is anyway-



And here, I'll go one more and attach the Output 3 Block itself.

Mine is set up for Momentary use only, not on or off. I can't even remember how I set all this up anymore, unfortunately.

The above grid layout runs the external loop in parallel, so you'll always be hearing the dry signal path (where the wah block is located) along with whatever you put in the loop. Be careful of phase issues between the two signal paths as well. If you don't need to blend in dry signal, it's better to mute or bypass that path.
