How do I add custom IR's without Axe-Edit?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if its possible to add custom IR's (like Red Wirez) without Axe-Edit beta. It's running very strangely on my computer so I'd like to avoid it.. its doing weird things to my patches on the Axe

What program do you use on Mac to safely add custom IR's?

First you must convert your wav IR's to Sysex messages in order to upload them to your Axe-FX. You need a little utility written in Java called Axe-Fx IR Converter (http://guitarlogic.org/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=0) to do that conversion. Then select an empty user cab slot in your Axe-Fx and transfer the Sysex file with a utility called Sysex Librarian (http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/).

I'll add a little to rodabt's post...

For the RedWirez, no conversion is necessary. Use the pre-converted .syx files in the Red Wirez download. For .wav impules from other sources, use the converter.

When using Sysex Librarian, load the cab .syx file into the queue. Edit the Cab block on the AxeFX and select which user cab to write/overwrite (1,2,3,etc). Press play in Sysex Librarian and the new cab impulse will be written in.

And don't forget to keep track of what impulse is in which user cab slot. I keep a folder on my computer with subfolders User Cab 1, User Cab 2, etc.

I'm using a Macbook Pro and have used the Axe Edit many times to load my Red Wirez without any problems...

I generally bypass the whole "edit" section altogether and just use the preset manager. I edit manually on the Axe.
