Help I'm new here

Craig, I'm a current G-System user running through a 5153 using the 4cm. I've been thinking about picking up an FX-8. How do the two compare? I'm sure the FX-8 has way more tone options. Thanks.

I to came from many years of using the G-System. I did love my G-Sys but the motivating factors for changing were the need for too many external pedals (distr, looper, wah, etc...) which complicated setup and required lots of floor space. I'm very happy with the switch as I love my FX-8.

The things that I liked better with the G-System where
- the guitar tuner!
It is much more responsive on the G-sys and always available
- the display
much easier for my eyes to read
- the big foot knobs
easier to hit the knob intended

That said, those things weren't as important to me as these items I get with my FX-8:
- distortion effects!
- looper
- great wah
- ease of use/programming!! Much simpler/intuitive interface for me. And computer based FX8-edit rocks!!
- regular updates!
- less floor space required!

It goes without saying that the quality of effects on both units are outstanding but the FX8 certainly wins
on having many more! The FX8 also doesn't have the ability to insert and power external pedals
like the G-sys has but then again, I'm not using my external pedals any more!

hth
