Help!!! Horrible Clipping Distortion

I am getting a severe clipping from AXE-FX III all of a sudden. Also getting a horrible hum that is louder than the guitar playing signal. Not sure what could have caused it.

Bad cable? How does it sound through headphones jack?

sounds like a bad cable, bad connection either to the guitar or into the Axe. or potentially a loose Input connection inside the axe.

if you are using the Front input, try the Rear Input 1 as a test (no need to change any settings). or the other way around if you are using the rear.

or you can try Input 3 physical jack, and change the block in the preset to Input 3. if we can isolate things, we can find the source of the issue.

ALWAYS check the cable. Even really good ones can go bad.

Dont need to do a factory reset when a bunch of other possibilities havent been ruled out.

please try what i suggested above. i don't think you need to factory reset.

ALWAYS check the cable. Even really good ones can go bad.

And sometimes, they aren't pushed all way into the jack. I've done that myself. (yikes did I just admit to that)

In 3 is just a 1/4" input. In 2 has a special XLR/TRS combo jack. it might be foreign to some people thinking they can't put a 1/4" in there, so i recommend the thing that's familiar.
