Help! (and thank you for the Gift of tone!)

I watched Cooper Carter's great GOT video and decided to load the prests up and give them a try. As Cooper stated, "If you have a blank screen thing, you are not on the most recent firmware". I thought that I was on the latest firmware so I did an update.

After the update and refresh after the installation I seem to have lost all of my own presets (now marked as EMPTY). Plus I seem to have lost all of my footswitch switching on all of the presets in the unit.

Sadly, I did not spot the GOT video until about 5.00 pm today and my wife returns home from work at about 5.30pm-ish. So rather than listen to her moan and groan about me messing with guitars and her having to go to work I switched everything off until tomorrow. When she is at work and I am messing around with guitars! LOL.
I still have a blank empty page which indicates the firmware update has not worked, so I need to look at that, but can anybody offer suggestions as to why my own presets have vanished?

On a lighter note. @Cooper Carter if you are going to post any more GOT videos can you post them so that they can be seen an hour or two before 5.00 pm (UK time) please? So that I can have some fun guitar time before the dreaded witch returns on her broom!
Many thanks to you and Periphery for what sounds like some great presets.
Merry Christmas.

Thank you all for the replies. I am going to start from scratch with the firmware but I do wonder what happened to my "own" presets that have vanished into thin air.
It's time for me to plug in and see what can be done.

Presets saved under a more recent firmware than you are running will show as empty. They are not... But the older firmware can't read them.

Thank you @unix-guy
I did a total reset and wiped the slate clean as it were. I have gone back to a total stock factory reset and seem to be loving the presets that I have had time to try. I have adjusted the footswitches on a couple of presets and will now work through others until I have them the way I like.

I was in a panic yesterday, but the Fractal Audio peace and beautiful harmony has fallen back into place and all is well with the World!

This has always puzzled me. I would assume that it's possible to retract the title from the preset file, and version, and display a message about the mismatch between firmware and preset.
Yes, it definitely is puzzling...

I suspect it's a "safety" feature, but I don't think I've ever seen official comment on this.
