Having trouble with output using AxeFx II as USB interface

I'm having trouble with output using the AxeFx II as an audio interface with my Mac. Input seems to work fine.
Here are some details:
  • AxeFx Mark I - Quantum 8.02 firmware
  • Headphones attached to the headphone out on the AxeFx
  • All works fine using the AxeFx alone
  • USB connected to the Mac (2016 model with the touch bar, running macOS 10.12.2)
  • Axe Edit works as expected on the Mac
  • In Logic, I have the AxeFx set as my audio in and audio out
  • I can get levels and record in Logic without a problem
  • If I playback I see playback levels but I hear nothing
  • If I change Logic's output to "Built-in output", I can hear my recorded guitar how I expect
  • Setting the output to AxeFx in System Preferences and playing Spotify, YouTube, etc I also get no output out of the headphones attached to the AxeFx
  • I tried reinstalling the AxeFx driver

Is there something I'm missing? I've been a long time user, but recently became interested in a very simplified, stripped down setup.
