Had a hard time with EHX expression pedal

This EHX expression pedal was turning on by itself just with the vibration on stage. I had it set to turn on at 5% and I couldnt play without having my foot on it to prevent to switch on.
Is there any way to make the pedal action heavier ?
 
I'm not sure about the pedal itself, but if you're using auto engage choose one of the "Speed" types instead of "Position" types.
 
You can stretch a strip of bicycle tire inner tube or big rubber bands over the whole heel end of the pedal to make it act like a spring loaded pedal. Some pedals have a tension adjustment, but I don't know about the EHX.
