H&K AS64 - AxeFX from stone age?

Yes, it was: "When it was released in 1985, the AS64 caused a shock in the music market and became the blueprint for the further development of the modern guitar amplifier. And so the data of the first fully programmable combo still reads impressively up-to-date even after 40 years: stereo with 2 x 80 watts, 64 preset memory locations, touch buttons instead of potentiometers, one tube and two transistor channels, three stereo loop paths, chorus, delay , noise gate and much more."

I had one, worked and sounded fine for me. Later I had (and I think I still have) the Access. Worked and sounded even better. I couldn't really bond with HK's newer programmable amps and definitely not with the FX module that they're still using in their amps today.
