I used to have the Access preamp. Sterile IMO. Could not get a real good tone out of it.

I had one, worked and sounded fine for me. Later I had (and I think I still have) the Access. Worked and sounded even better. I couldn't really bond with HK's newer programmable amps and definitely not with the FX module that they're still using in their amps today.

For me it's faszinating that a Z80 cpu was used is the AS64 and that volume, sound and effect setting could be stored in presets already. I still remember the Amstrad CPC 6128 computer with this cpu in these days ... Z80 is in use until today but production stopped now.
