Godin Alex Lifeson Sig

Wow, that pricing does seem adventurous for that guitar, but he does have some very dedicated fans.

It's a pretty typical looking S-style guitar,
with an ebony fretboard,
your choice of a Floyd or a Vega Trem,
some Mojotone pickups,
a nicely sculpted neck-heel,
and an unusual switch position.

Call me crazy, but it seems to me that, for the same money or less,
I could get exactly the same features,
plus override some of Lifeson's choices with my own if they aren't the same,
and more finish options,
from someplace like Warmoth.

Yeah, the value-prop here isn't that great for the player;
it's more for the dedicated-fan-who's-also-a-collector.

Prices goes crazy on "high end" gear but at the same time there is a lot of very good guitars under 1000 dollars even 400

I mean, I paid that kind of $$$ for a CS Strat '64 Burgundy Mist "Journeyman Relic" (like a well taken care of, but definitely gigged 59 year old guitar, with a few realistic small dings, chips, and such, and realistic finish crazing/checking) Strat, but try finding a real '64 in the color you want for less than 5x that.
For a new hotrod Strat, I would go Warmoth and get everything exactly as I like, and maybe even get adventurous and try a different body shape like an Iceman or Musiclander/Swinger....

Alex looks good! Good for him losing some weight. Don't have any thoughts on the guitar though.

Oh, but wasn't his original 'Strat' made by Veneman's back in the day?

I have both versions of his Epiphone LP signature guitars, but I will pass on this. I still have my ‘86 MIJ Fender Contemporary Strat that does the trick for me in that area.
