Glass on Glass, tinty sound?

I would like to recreate the higher pitched melody on this song that sounds like glass hitting glass is the best way I can describe it.

Yeah I've heard something like this before but have no clue if it's a synth or an instrument as you suggest. I would like to do this song using only multiple guitar tracks and different presets.

I think you could do this with a synth, some pitch blocks, and an ADSR for the percussive attack. It's not entirely different from my approach to percussive organ sounds.
