Not sure what you mean? The fx8 is new - I have never heard of any plans to make a new already? Have you read this hear somewhere?

the FX8 is designed to be a cheaper device that only does effects. upgrading it to the same guts as an FX II would raise the cost to roughly the same as an FX II + an MFC...

I think I should have went the FX II way. Having trouble with CPU while using reverbs. Shutting down in the middle of a gig

Unit does not have as much CPU to add all the blocks I'm looking for. Should have bought the FXII
