FX Loop input in Axe FX2 firmware 5.01 question

Ok, I'm running my second Axe Fx 2 into my first one thru inputs 3+4.
I insert a "FX Loop" block into my patch and connect it to my OUT with a shunt.

Inside the FX Loop parameters I have Level 1-4 and Pan 1-4, a main slider and the mixer section(view'd with Axe Edit).

None of the level knobs, Pan knobs, or main slider have an effect on the incoming signal from the FX loop.
The Level knob in the "FX Loop's" mixer section does work.

Any clue why none of the other knobs or slider work in my setup?

Those controls are a mixer for signals arriving to the FXL block from the previous column, affecting what goes to Out 2. The 2nd page balance/level are after In 2 so that's why they're the only things that do anything in that config.
