FW v1.0 vs 11.0......how far has it come?

So i had a standard right when they first came out with version 1.0 FW.

I was not thrilled by the sound so i sold the unit.

Now, 8 years later, i just picked up a used standard with FW 11...should arrive later this week...

The question here is how far has the unit gone from 1 to 11?

I am hoping that through 6 years of development and 10 FW upgrades the unit has gotten better since 1.0

Any thoughts?

Not even a comparison. You should be very pleased with the modelling progress. I loved the ultra firmware 11

Cool, im on a pod HD right now so i hope this is a step up and not sideways.

I had an hd 500. It had a few decent tones but not in the same league overall

Yea my hd sounds good for practicing with headphones but still not right for direct recording.

Yep, Line6 not only dropped the ball, it rolled down the road, into a river and floated off never to be found again. I've had lots of their stuff since the AXSyS combo and the Axe-FX II is beyond comparison.

i never understood why line 6 never developed their products to include the ability to load user ir's.

i think that would have put them up to the next level.

Their DSPs aren't powerful enough

I figured the introduction of user ir's into their pod line would push the price point up too high for their traget consumerbase.
