This is actually good news for me, if the mids are actually more pronounced. Playing live with a fairly dense band mix, mids are my friend and essential for not getting lost in the mix. Looking forward to downloading this FW and checking it out.

I never really noticed much sound difference. Subtle rather than completely different. It sounds good to me. You should reinstall FW28 just to confirm the sound change, then reinstall FW31. It's only a few mins effort. Then you'll know if it was the firmware or if something else changed coincidentally at the same time - maybe a bad cable or a bad pot on your guitar or something.

Just make sure to back up your presets and system settings if you go back and forth between firmware versions!

Note also (you probably know this but in case not) that if you save a preset on a later version, you won't be able to open it on an earlier one.
