So I thought I'd do a recording to see if I could get the new fabled "knock" with FW 16. While I was at it, I wanted to do a swirl recording, too, given that all the modeling improvements in FW16 so far are power amp.
The first two clips in this recording are the Liverpool model going through an OH Marshall V30 UR IR and TAF BW Mix. The first is with the low resonance set at 75hz (V30's resonant frequency), and the second is at 150hz (double 75hz).
The last clip is the Space Tone going through an OH 112 Alnico Silver UR IR and the stock UR 1X12 Roamer Mix. Input drive is set at about 10:00.
I played my swamp ash Suhr Modern for all the clips. Pardon the ADHD and sloppy playing, I just got home from work and my brain is fried
I think I hear this "knock" Mr. Cliff speaks of in the first clip more than the second, though it translates much better through my EV ELX112P than my studio monitors (i.e., it kinda kicks you in the nuts, in a good way).
